NEW LEGAL ROUTE—Chihana has shifted to the IRC
Former Blantyre Water Board (BWB) chief executive officer (CEO) Yeremia Chihana has issued a fresh legal challenge to the water supplier, demanding K193 billion in compensation and indicating that he will pursue the matter in the Industrial Relations Court (IRC) if his demands are not met.
In a demand letter dated October 8, 2026, Chihana, through his lawyers Gobz & Rechtswissenschaft, disputes the justification, procedural fairness and proportionality of his dismissal.
