SHAH ALAM: Actress Emma Maembong's habit of valuing sincerity over material wealth deeply touched DJ Kidd—especially since he once felt insecure about being by her side.
DJ Kidd, whose real name is Nur Irfan, admitted he used to wonder if Emma felt embarrassed to be with him, particularly when facing judgmental looks from others.
Speaking to Berita Harian yesterday, he shared how Emma proved that true love depends on honesty and responsibility rather than money or status.
"In the past, many people looked down on me. I would often ask Emma, 'Don't you feel like you're lowering your status by being with me?'
"But Emma is a woman who doesn't care about material wealth. She prioritises a person's character and their sense of responsibility toward her.
"I intend to make the most of this opportunity. I will cherish her, ensure she is never sad, and give her all my attention," he said when met at the Anugerah Melodi Terhangat (AMT) 2026 at the Selangor International Trade Centre (SITC) in Shah Alam last night.
DJ Kidd described Emma as a special person who has supported him tirelessly, even when he faced negative perception from the public.
Visibly emotional while reflecting on her kindness, he added that he sees her presence as a true blessing in his life.
"She has brought so many blessings into my life. Emma is the source of my rezeki. She has helped and supported me a great deal. Even though many people looked down on me—well, only God knows the truth.
"I will do my absolute best for Emma. Pray for the best for us," he said.
Previously, Emma—whose real name is Fatimah Rohani Ismail, 34—acknowledged her close relationship with DJ Kidd, which first caught the attention of online fans a year ago.
The pair made headlines again in June after a photo of them together went viral on social media.
