KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy rain has prompted complaints from residents about recurring floods in parts of the Klang Valley, with one resident blaming clogged drains near an unfinished pedestrian walkway in Petaling Jaya.
In a post on Threads, user _anuarlatif said flooding frequently occurred in Taman Putra Damai, Lembah Subang, which the user attributed to blocked drains following construction work along the area's main road.
The user said soil and construction materials left by the roadside appeared to have washed into the drains, obstructing water flow.
"Can the minister look into the problems residents here face whenever it rains, causing floods in our neighbourhood?
"The pedestrian walkway has been left unfinished for a long time. The problem stems from the contractor building the walkway along the main road.

"When it rains, soil and materials fall into the drains, eventually blocking the water flow," the user said in a post today.
The Petaling Jaya City Council said the user should provide the full address of the affected area to facilitate checks and further action.
Meanwhile, another Threads user, amm.yusopp, reported flooding in Kampung Melayu Subang.
Further details on the flooding at both locations, including water levels and the impact on residents, were not available.
