KOTA BARU: Bersatu leaders in Kelantan should respect Perikatan Nasional's (PN) leadership and abide by its decisions.
Comparing PN to a team, Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said its members should follow the captain's lead rather than act independently.
"If we are in the same team, we must follow the captain's lead. We already have a captain.
"If anyone disagrees with the captain and wants to do things their own way, they should consider leaving the team," he told reporters here today.
Hamzah said Wawasan and Pas Kelantan had discussed political cooperation and preparations for the 16th General Election (GE16), including Wawasan's electoral prospects in the state.
He said the talks covered broader political developments and cooperation within PN, rather than focusing solely on seat allocation in Kelantan.
Hamzah had met Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud and Pas Kelantan commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yakob to discuss matters of mutual interest.
He said the discussions had gone well and would not affect Wawasan's cooperation with the Pas-led state government.
"Insya-Allah, there is nothing that will affect our cooperation with the Pas-led state government, particularly within PN," he said.
Hamzah said the talks also touched on Kelantan's political landscape, where Wawasan had won seats in the previous state election.
He said the parties had discussed their future political direction but left it to the Menteri Besar to assess the situation and decide on the best course of action.
"We discussed various matters, but I leave it to the Menteri Besar to assess the situation as we do not want to disrupt anything," he said.
He added that Wawasan's preparations for GE16 extended beyond Kelantan, with the party taking into account the wider political landscape.
