Sendbird, an AI communications company, is partnering with Upstage to commercialize enterprise AI agents built on a Korean-developed large language model.
Sendbird said on the 19th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Upstage to that effect. The plan is to link Sendbird's enterprise AI agent platform, Delight.ai, with Upstage's large language model, Solar, apply the combination to actual corporate workflows and identify joint business opportunities in sovereign AI.
The two companies will identify tasks among Sendbird's corporate clients where Solar can be applied and verify performance in phases. They plan to evaluate response speed, task accuracy and customer satisfaction in live service environments and feed the results back into each company's products. Sendbird will handle AI agent design, integration with existing systems and operations, while Upstage will support optimization of its large language model for corporate environments.
The two companies have been discussing cooperation since August and have been running tests for application to client projects. Following the agreement, they plan to expand the range of applicable tasks and client groups and to pursue joint business targeting companies considering the adoption of Korean-built large language models.
"By linking Solar with Delight.ai, we will verify the needs that emerge at actual work sites and broaden the Korean-built AI options available to corporate clients," said Byun Jae-kyung, head of Upstage's cloud business division. Lee Sang-hee, chief executive of Sendbird Korea, said, "By combining Upstage's model technology with Sendbird's AI agent operating capabilities, we will create cases in which Korean-built large language models translate into tangible results for customers."
