A new restaurant in Portimão is looking to revive the relaxed atmosphere of Portugal’s traditional casas de petiscos (tapas houses), with a menu built around sharing food, familiar flavours and affordable prices.
Petisc’ Aqui, which has opened on Estrada de Alvor, serves a selection of Portuguese petiscos, traditional dishes, bifanas, pregos and cold salads.

At lunchtime, diners can opt for a €13.50 set menu including couvert, a main course, drink, dessert and coffee.
The restaurant is also serving daily petiscos for €5, while draft beer costs €1 between 5pm and 8pm.
Owner Paulo Marques says the idea is to recreate the spirit of the old-fashioned Portuguese petisco house: somewhere informal where people can sit down, share food and spend time together.
“We want people to walk into Petisc’ Aqui and feel they are somewhere they can eat well, relax and want to come back,” he said.

“Our idea is simple: flavour, quality, tradition and the desire to petiscar (snack),” the owner added.
The restaurant is aimed at both local residents and visitors to Portimão.
Petisc’ Aqui is located at Estrada de Alvor, no. 14, on the ground floor.
