Everyone is due an extra hour’s sleep on Sunday as the clocks will roll back an hour at 3am to 2am.
Daylight saving time in the Netherlands has been in place since 1977, following the oil crisis of the 70s, when saving energy on lighting became a priority.
The clocks go forward in spring, on the last Sunday of March, to give lighter evenings. Staying on summer time into the winter would mean very dark mornings, so in October the clocks return to standard time.
The EU has debated ending daylight saving time altogether and the European Parliament voted to stop it in 1996 but member states have not yet committed to it.
So tomorrow you can lie in a little longer.
