The Tinubu Movement for Sustainable Governance Foundation (TMS), popularly known as Tinubu Must Stay, has inducted its national leadership to promote policy continuity, sustainable governance, and public understanding of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The inauguration, held in Abuja on Monday, unveiled a two-tier governance structure comprising a Board of Trustees, National Coordinators, and six directorates to mobilize broad-based citizen participation in support of the continuation of the President’s transformative reforms beyond 2027.
The new leadership is headed by the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, who will serve as Chairman and National Coordinator.
He is joined by the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye, as National Coordinator South, with the position of National Coordinator North under deliberation.
“Our movement is built on enlightening Nigerians on the President’s reforms and the need for sustainability,” Kashifu said at the inauguration. “Reforms are not a one-off event; it’s a journey, and it takes time to see the actual benefit.”
Kashifu argued that if Nigeria’s history is examined, the only successful sub-national reform that translated into sustained economic growth is Lagos State, a foundation laid by President Tinubu.
“We have someone who has taken bold decisions, and we have already started seeing the benefits. What we need to do is analyze these reforms, get more insight and intelligence, and share with the public,” he added.
The Foundation will adopt a technology-driven and evidence-based approach, engage Nigerians through virtual town hall meetings and physical grassroots outreach, and simplify complex economic indicators like GDP growth into relatable, everyday benefits for rural communities.
“We want to be different in our activities. If you are going to the rural communities, you have to connect the benefits of reform to what matters to them. People will ask, ‘there is improvement in GDP, but how does that translate to our daily life?’ We need to bring that down to them through data,” he stated.
In his remarks, Dr. Nwoye, who oversees party management and mobilization for 17 Southern states, lamented that many achievements of the Tinubu administration remain unreported and unappreciated due to poor communication.
“A lot has been done by this government, but the unfortunate thing is that they are not even well communicated. We all struggle with this. This organization will do well in picking those pieces of information,” Nwoye said.
The APC official listed some of the underreported interventions, including direct federal disbursements to states, the monthly stipend to vulnerable Nigerians, and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
“Many states have received a little over N15 billion paid directly to people; some states have received as much as N10 billion. People are receiving money every month — N25,000. And in many states, it is done without publicity,” he noted.
“You don’t have to defer education due to economic reasons because now you can go to any public school with 100 percent backed, interest-free loans. And the money is paid directly to the school. It is only in advanced countries that you see this happen.”
Dr. Nwoye further described Enugu as the fastest-growing state in Nigeria, adding that “the reforms going on in Enugu would not be possible if not for the policies put together by President Bola Tinubu.”
