Apple today officially unveiled its new HomeView smart display. HomeView has a 7-inch square display and comes in two versions: one with a speaker base and another meant to be mounted on your wall.
You can pre-order HomeView today for $299. It will start arriving to customers on November 13.
Here’s everything you need to know about HomeView.
HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display that’s connected to a domed speaker base with a stainless steel hinge with tilt support. The display features Apple’s True Tone technology and 500 nits of brightness. It can also dim to 0.3 nits, making it great for a nightstand.
There’s also a separate wall-mounted version of HomeView. This model can be “attached to a wall using three purpose-built mounts from Schneider Home, with options for self-installation or professional installation.”
Here are the details on those wall-mounting options from Apple:
HomeView (Wall Mounted) will be available with a choice of three purpose-built mounts from Schneider Home. Power Mount USB‑C Wall Connector, available starting at $59.95 (U.S.), and Power Mount AC Wired, available starting at $79.95 (U.S.), can be ordered starting today from apple.com/store and in the Apple Store app. Power Mount PoE Wired will be available starting in early 2027 for $129.95 (U.S.).
Apple says the HomeView interface will intelligently adjust based on how far away you are. It will show “simpler information that’s viewable from across the room” as well as “richer detail” as you step closer.
HomeView can also recognize up to six different people and deliver a “personalized experience” for each one. This includes a personalized Home Screen with apps and widgets. “Personal content stays private from others, while shared photo albums and music can be easily enjoyed by everyone in a household, including guests,” Apple says.
The table-top version of HomeView is available in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray. The wall-mounted version is available in space gray and silver. You can pre-order both today for $299 from Apple’s website, with availability beginning November 13.
