We’re now at week 7 of the fantasy football season, and we’ll be taking a look at some more start or sit decisions. Teams with a bye this week include the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Commanders, and the Los Angeles Chargers.
For anyone who’s new, we’ll give a quick refresher on the rules. Players with an RB20 ranking at the highest can be a start, while WR24 is the highest a player can be ranked to qualify as a sit.
These rankings are from FantasyPros expert consensus Week 7 PPR rankings. For the other positions, that number drops down to 10 for a start and 14 to be a sit.
Fantasy Football Week 7 RB Start: Emanuel Wilson (RB29)
Emanuel Wilson has taken control of this Seattle Seahawks backfield with Jadarian Price out. Even if Zach Charbonnet plays this week, it doesn’t seem like he’s going to be very involved.
With that in mind, Wilson has had at least 14 carries in the last three weeks, which include two games over 13.2 points. While Wilson only had 5.2 points last week, he didn’t catch a single pass after having at least two catches in Week 4 and Week 3.
It’s not as if the Kansas City Chiefs are a good matchup either, as they’ve allowed the 27th most points per game to running backs this year in fantasy football. The problem is that, at this point of the season, there’s not a ton of great options around the RB2 range.
Wilson isn’t a sure thing, but his proven workload over the last three weeks combined with the fact that he’s produced in two of his last three games makes him a fine start as your RB2.
Fantasy Football Week 7 RB Sit: Tony Pollard (RB23)
Typically, you should look to target running backs on high-scoring offenses, and Tony Pollard is on the opposite. The Tennessee Titans are currently tied for last in PPG scored this year at 14.
Pollard is coming off two games with 7.6 points or fewer, and he’s yet to score over 13.6 points this season. The Cleveland Browns also have allowed the 2nd fewest fantasy PPG this year to running backs.
Fantasy Football Week 7 WR Start: Germie Bernard (WR23)
Germie Bernard isn’t proven, but he’s burst onto the scene over the last two weeks. As the 47th overall draft pick in the 2026 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers clearly believe in Bernard, and it makes sense that he would get better as the season goes on.
What appeals to me is the targets, with Bernard having nine and then 12 over the last two weeks. DK Metcalf had 15 targets last week, which was five more than his previous best of 10 from
Week 1.
With that in mind, I’m expecting Bernard to sustain or even increase this usage. The Steelers take on the New Orleans Saints, who rank 16th against the position for fantasy football.
Fantasy Football Week 7 WR Sit: Michael Wilson (WR22)
While Michael Wilson has shown really strong upside, he’s now had under eight points in three of his six games. Outside of two weeks with 13 or more targets, Wilson has had seven targets in every other week.
Given that Wilson has scored 7.3 points or less in the last two weeks, and now he takes on the Denver Broncos, who have allowed the 25th most fantasy PPG to wide receivers, he’s a good sit this week.
Fantasy Football Week 7 QB Start: Kyler Murray (QB12)
The sample size is small with Kyler Murray, but he’s increased his fantasy football production each week since going down with an injury. Now that Murray has had a bye week to rest even more, I don’t see why he can’t build on scoring 18.3 points in Week 5.
What intrigued me the most was the fact that Murray had 10 rushing attempts for 51 yards, and rushing production is extremely beneficial for fantasy football. Murray also has a nice matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, who have allowed the 10th most fantasy PPG to quarterbacks in 2026.
Fantasy Football Week 7 QB Sit: Patrick Mahomes (QB11)
Patrick Mahomes had a really good start to the year, but in his last three games he’s scored 17 points or less. Mahomes can certainly get back on track this season, but I don’t think it’s going to be against the Seattle Seahawks, who have allowed the 2nd fewest fantasy PPG to quarterbacks this year.
Fantasy Football Week 7 TE Start: Tyler Higbee (TE13)
With Davante Adams now injured, that creates opportunity for a receiver to step up. Tyler Higbee had a slow start, but he’s scored at least 11.7 points in three of his last four games.
The Las Vegas Raiders are also a phenomenal matchup, allowing the 7th most fantasy PPG to the position. With a great matchup, potential opportunity, and proven production, Higbee is a good start this week.
Fantasy Football Week 7 TE Sit: Harold Fannin Jr. (TE11)
Despite being a fan of Harold Fannin Jr. in terms of talent, he’s only averaging 8.9 PPG now, and his last two games have been tough. Fannin had less than two points in both of the last two weeks, and even going back to Week 4, he’s had five or fewer targets since.
With the Tennessee Titans allowing the 25th most PPG to tight ends this year, I would leave Fannin on your bench until he proves himself again.
Fantasy Football Week 7 DST Start: Tennessee Titans (DST12)
When looking for good value in a defense, I’m simply looking at the matchup. Anything else is just an added bonus. Tennessee has that bonus coming off a 19-point game against the Indianapolis Colts, and they’re averaging six PPG on the year.
What really matters is the matchup as they take on the Cleveland Browns, who have allowed the 6th most fantasy PPG to opposing DSTs this year.
Fantasy Football Week 7 DST Sit: Seattle Seahawks (DST9)
The same logic applies to defenses in a tough matchup. Despite the Seattle Seahawks averaging 9.5 PPG, I would rather just wait until they have a good or even fine matchup.
This week, the Seahawks take on the Chiefs, who have allowed the 3rd fewest fantasy PPG to the position. With a matchup that tough, I would sit the Seahawks DST in Week 7 of fantasy football.
