Who has the best helmet in Fort Collins-area high school football?
We let the fans decide, and you've picked your winner.
While there are helmets ranging from classic to sleek and block letters to a Lambkin logo, there was one helmet that stood above the rest in the fan voting.
Poudre High School's blue-and-gray helmets with the script "Impalas" font took top honors in the Fort Collins area.
In many ways, the Impalas' helmets combine styles from all of our local teams.
It's not a throwback look like Windsor's or even Rocky Mountain's. They don't have a logo like Fort Collins, or a block letter like Wellington. While sleek, they're not quite as singularly colored as Fossil Ridge's or Timnath's.
The Poudre helmets surged to a win in the fan poll with 60% of over 4,000 votes cast.
Windsor (16.6%) and Fossil Ridge (14.6%) also earned significant support in the voting.
The Impalas showed their school spirit over the summer, too, voting Poudre's unique antelope mascot as the best Fort Collins-area high school mascot.
