The North Carolina Tar Heels are just a few weeks away from beginning the 2026-27 college basketball season, hosting Western Carolina on November 2nd. It will be the first year under new head coach Michael Malone, as he took over this offseason.
After a disaster of an ending to last season, the Tar Heels are hoping to turn things around. But the future of the program is also in focus with recruiting classes. This weekend, North Carolina will be hosting one of their top targets for the 2027 class.
Five-star recruit Demarcus Henry is set to visit North Carolina this weekend, per Joe Tipton of On3. It's a big visit for the Tar Heels as they will have the chance to impress Henry and make a statement in the recruiting process.

The Tar Heels have been in this recruitment for months now, and this allows Malone and his staff to really convince Henry that he's needed in Chapel Hill. Henry is a Charlotte native but is currently in Arizona playing at Compass Prep High School. He's taken visits to Louisville, UConn, Kentucky, and Arkansas this fall.
The 6-foot-7 wing is ranked No. 4 nationally, the No. 1 small forward, and the No. 1 player in the state of Arizona per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
