Tajikistan’s Minister of Labour, Migration and Employment Solikha Kholmakhmadzoda has instructed officials to strengthen oversight of timely wage payments and the protection of workers’ rights. These issues were among those discussed on 13 October at a collegium meeting of the ministry devoted to the results of its work over the first nine months of 2026.
As the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment reports, the meeting was attended by the heads of the Migration Service, the Agency for Labour and Employment, the State Labour, Migration and Employment Inspectorate, and the ministry’s representative office in Russia.
Particular attention was paid to compliance with labour legislation, the protection of workers’ rights, timely payment of wages, workplace safety, and the prevention of industrial accidents.

Labour migration was discussed as a separate agenda item. Specifically, the meeting addressed expanding the geography of employment for Tajik citizens abroad, developing organised recruitment of workers for foreign employers, and improving conditions for labour migrants.
Support for citizens returning from labour migration was also named as a priority. The minister instructed officials to step up efforts to find them employment and create income opportunities within the country.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation of vocational training programmes, employment promotion initiatives, and craft development schemes.
Deputy Minister Sharif Norzoda delivered a report on the ministry’s performance over the nine months. He presented the results of the department’s work, the progress of state programmes, and issues requiring additional attention.
Following the meeting, Solikha Kholmakhmadzoda gave the heads of the ministry’s divisions specific instructions to address identified shortcomings, strengthen oversight of sectoral programme implementation, and improve operational efficiency. The minister demanded that the assigned tasks be completed on time and that the necessary measures be taken to resolve existing problems.
