The signing of the peace agreement as early as possible is the commitment of our government. Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan stated this at the Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government on Thursday.
“We want to see this document signed and ratified, because the communications have not only an economic component, but also a mission to strengthen peace,” Mirzoyan added.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also stated that it is necessary to sign this peace agreement with Azerbaijan as soon as possible.
But Pashinyan dismissed the news reports that he allegedly announced that the document will be signed in 2031.
“I said ‘by 2031,’” the Armenian premier clarified, referring to the mandate given as a result of the parliamentary elections is calculated for five years.
“But our plans do not include delaying the process,” Pashinyan added.
