What did Naledi Aphiwe say about MaWhoo's mother?: Read here

• Naledi Aphiwe fired fresh shots at MaWhoo's family on social media, this time directing unsavoury remarks at MaWhoo's mother
• The rising singer linked the attack to what she described as disrespect towards her late mother's memory
• The latest wave of insults comes after Naledi reignited her feud with MaWhoo and her sister

The bitter war of words between Naledi Aphiwe and the Ngema family has taken a deeply personal turn. On 23 October 2026, the rising Afro-pop vocalist directed cutting remarks at MaWhoo's mother, dragging the older generation into a dispute that had already been burning for months.

Naledi made clear that her sharp tongue was not without reason. She tied her latest comments to the insults she has received about her mother, insisting that grief does not make her a soft target.

"I've made peace with losing her, but that doesn't give you the right to disrespect her memory!" she wrote.

She also quoted a remark that had been thrown her way, "Nginomama mina, akashonanga owami" (I still have a mother; she hasn't died), suggesting that the taunt about her deceased mother pushed her to retaliate.

What started as tension between Naledi and MaWhoo's sister Amahle had been simmering for months before it boiled over publicly. During a recent podcast interview, Naledi shed light on the origins of the conflict, clarifying that her grievance was originally with Amahle alone. She went further to slam MaWhoo for wading into a dispute that she said had nothing to do with her.

The interview reignited the beef in a very public way, prompting a fresh exchange of insults across social media platforms.

In a separate post, Naledi pleaded with her detractors to leave her late mother out of their online clashes, highlighting the deep emotional impact the comments have had on her younger siblings.

"Why bring my late mom into everything? I have young sisters and a brother who are also on social media. They see all these things being said about their mom, and those wounds are not even fully healed," Naledi wrote.

She urged anyone with a grievance to direct their anger at her personally rather than attacking someone who can no longer defend herself.

"If you have a problem with me, fight with ME! ... Fight with me, insult me if you want, but leave my mom out of it. I'm not the only one who has to live with the pain of losing her. My siblings do too, and they don't deserve to keep seeing people disrespect their mother online."

MaWhoo stays quiet while Naledi keeps firing

Despite the storm swirling around her family, MaWhoo has chosen not to acknowledge the latest round of attacks. Instead, she has kept her focus firmly on her professional life, promoting her upcoming event, Secret Garden with MaWhoo, as if the drama unfolding online is entirely beneath her.

Online observers, however, are less composed about what they are witnessing. With parents now being pulled into the crossfire and deeply personal losses being weaponised, many social media users feel the feud has reached a point of no return. What began as a dispute between two young women has transformed into something that cuts far deeper, leaving fans stunned by just how far the conflict has been allowed to escalate.

"I do not support Naledi with what she is doing, but that Amahle girl was the first to talk about her late mom and Naledi looks wrong when she retaliates."

Funo_s suggested:

"Naledi needs therapy to deal with her mom's passing. She can’t keep attacking people’s mothers like this; she did the same with her manager's mom when they were fighting, kept attacking and insulting her."

"She's taking it to hell!"
