- The images sparked a wave of mixed reactions from Kenyans, with some finding humour in the scene and others raising eyebrows
Kathy Kiuna, the well-known Jubilee Christian Church preacher, has set tongues wagging after images from one of her Sunday services went viral, and for reasons that had little to do with the sermon itself.

The photos, shared on Sunday, October 11, show Kiuna dressed in a striking long blue dress with bold yellow, red, and white floral patterning, holding a microphone on a stage bathed in vivid pink and magenta lighting.
Standing beside her is a heavily built man in a black sleeveless tank top, dark trousers, white-framed glasses and a wristwatch, his hands clasped in front of him with his head bowed as if in prayer or reverence.

The stage setting features a Yamaha keyboard, a large screen in the background, and what appears to be a suited individual seated at a table behind them.
The church captioned the images with an inspirational message tied to purpose and effort:
"In order for you to bring forth, you have to be willing to sacrifice, put in the work, and travail. What are you doing with the time, talents, and gifts God has given you? Do you have goals, or are you just existing?"
The message was clearly meant to motivate, but many Kenyans online were far more fixated on the visual of the muscular man sharing the stage with the preacher.
The comments section did not disappoint, with Kenyans bringing their signature humour and candour to the conversation.
@wahitotravels wrote:
"Our good brothers are suffering."
@omayagilbert kept it short:
"I'm just laughing."
@thee_ceo went a step further, invoking fairness:
"Gender equality: we need a lady on stage to flex her curves too."
@kingdavidndiangui had a rather different priority, simply asking:
"Location of church?"
@kimathi_gk rounded things off with a cheeky Swahili jab:
"Mwendazake hajafurahi."
The post drew significant engagement, with the muscular churchgoer clearly becoming an unlikely talking point among Kenyan social media users.
Why was pastor frustrated?
In other news, a Kenyan pastor triggered online reactions after expressing frustration over receiving only KSh 185 in tithes from a congregation of 300 members.
He cited church expenses, including funeral arrangements and transport for a visiting preacher, as reasons for needing more contributions.
