DURHAM, N.C. — Caleb Foster has a "chance" to play in Duke basketball's third and final exhibition on Sunday, Oct. 25 at Kansas, head coach Jon Scheyer said after the Blue Devils 103-64 rout over Tennessee on Tuesday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Scheyer had previously said that Foster would miss the preseason with an ankle injury at ACC Tipoff on Oct. 7.
"Caleb, I think he has a chance of playing Sunday," Scheyer said Oct. 20 after the Blue Devils took down the Vols. "He's being dying, again, to play in my ear. I don't know. We'll have to see."
Foster is one of two Blue Devils unavailable during the preseason alongside Drew Scharnowski, who said last month he was "working through" a knee injury.
Foster is coming off a junior campaign that saw him average 8.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. He's dealt with injuries through his time in Durham, including an ankle fracture his freshman season and a fractured bone in his right foot that caused him to miss five games down the stretch last season.
Duke's win over Tennessee was its second preseason win after taking down Belmont 102-62 on Oct. 8. Six Blue Devils scored in double-figures against the Volunteers: Deron Rippey Jr. (21), John Blackwell (18), Dame Sarr (15), Patrick Ngongba II (13), Sebastian Wilkins and Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje (11)
Duke concludes preseason play at Kansas on Oct. 25 before officially tipping off its 2026-27 campaign against Army at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Nov. 2.
