AIR Peace Limited has alerted passengers to a suspected fraudster impersonating the airline’s customer service agent on WhatsApp to defraud intending travellers.
The airline disclosed that the individual, who operates with a particular phone number, has allegedly been soliciting payments from passengers under the guise of facilitating flight bookings.
In a statement by the airline’s Spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, Air Peace said the suspect had repeatedly changed the accounts used to receive payments, moving from an Opay account to a Paga account and subsequently to a microfinance bank account bearing the name “Air Peace”.
The airline raised concerns over the use of its corporate identity to deceive unsuspecting passengers, warning that the use of its name by the account holder does not establish any legitimate association with the airline.

Air Peace categorically stated that it does not request payments through personal or third-party accounts, stressing that passengers must use only its authorised booking and payment channels.
According to the airline, legitimate flight bookings and payments should be made exclusively through its official website, its mobile application, accredited travel agents and designated sales outlets located within cities and airport terminals.
