Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, has disclosed that the scorecard of Governor Nasir Idris’ administration so far covers roads, office accommodation, transport facilities and other development projects.
Ahmed, who made this known at a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, said the scorecard covered roads, office accommodation, transport facilities, drainage, bridges and other public works.
He said the briefing was organised to review the infrastructure record of Idris’ administration as it approaches its fourth year in office.
The commissioner said the projects were a down payment on the administration’s campaign promises and a response to years of infrastructure deficits across the state.

He said roads and other critical infrastructure were central to unlocking the state’s economic potential, improving access to services, facilitating the movement of agricultural produce, attracting investment and speeding up security and emergency responses.
Ahmed said the state’s road network had suffered decades of neglect, leaving residents with poor connectivity and deteriorating facilities. He recalled that Idris had promised during the electioneering campaign to reverse the trend.
He said the rehabilitation and construction projects had reduced travel difficulties and opened up communities to greater economic activities.
He listed the newly awarded projects to include the rehabilitation of the Birnin Lafiya-Gulma-Natsini Road and the construction of access roads and drainage facilities behind Azbir Arena.
He said the 32.7-kilometre Birnin Lafiya-Gulma-Natsini Road, located in Argungu Local Government Area, was awarded with a 12-month completion period.
The commissioner expressed confidence that sustained investment in infrastructure would accelerate growth, increase productivity and improve living standards in Kebbi State.
