Hotels in Kaduna metropolis are recording full room bookings ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s campaign launch on Saturday, as demand for accommodation rises.
Selected hotels across the city said several facilities had exhausted their available rooms, while prospective guests continued to seek accommodation.
The development comes as Kaduna prepares to receive members of the All Progressives Congress expected to attend the presidential campaign event.
At Bafra Hotel, Yakubu Avenue, Ungwan Rimi, the manager, Christopher Ugbede, said all the hotel’s 149 rooms had been booked ahead of Mr Tinubu’s visit.
Mr Ugbede said the reservations were made in anticipation of the campaign flag-off, leaving the hotel with no available rooms for additional guests.
Similarly, the front desk officer at Asa Pyramid Hotel, Lafiya Road, Janet Joseph, said all the facility’s 178 rooms had been booked for the event.
Ms Joseph said the hotel had received reservations from guests planning to attend the presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna.
At Stone Edge Hotel, Bank Road, a front desk officer, Nura Abdullahi, said all the hotel’s 33 rooms had also been fully booked.
Mr Abdullahi said prospective guests were still trooping into the hotel to make reservations, but staff had been referring them to other hotels because all rooms were occupied or reserved.
He said the continued enquiries indicated that some visitors were still searching for available accommodation ahead of the event.
At Epitome Hotel, Barnawa, non-executive director Paul Yahaya said the hotel’s 88 rooms were booked.
Mr Yahaya, however, said the hotel was struggling to accommodate requests for 30 additional rooms because some existing guests were already occupying its facilities.
He expressed uncertainty about securing the 30 rooms for prospective visitors, given the hotel’s existing accommodation commitments.
At Al-Ihsan Metro Hotel, Mogadishu Road, a front desk officer, Ambrose Ikechukwu, said all the hotel’s 67 rooms had been booked.
Mr Ikechukwu said 40 of the reservations were made by guests coming to Kaduna for Mr Tinubu’s campaign flag-off, while the remaining bookings were not specified.
However, the general manager of Butterfly Hotel, Marafa, Ibiloye Olanrewaju, said the hotel’s 104 rooms had received regular bookings from customers.
Mr Olanrewaju, however, did not say whether the hotel had recorded additional reservations specifically linked to the presidential campaign event.
The anticipated influx of visitors is expected to increase demand for accommodation and other hospitality services in Kaduna as authorities prepare to ensure a hitch-free event.
