Smart robot lawn mowers are a massive asset to homeowners, taking a huge chore off their hands so they can properly enjoy their free time. But these lawn mowers aren’t perfect, especially if you don’t have a perfectly flat, rectangular yard to work with.
Sunseeker Elite is fixing that with its newest flagship model, the Sunseeker Elite X8 Plus, alongside the standard X8 model. Being shown at the Equip Expo Fest 2026 this week, this new robotic lawn mower features advanced sensing and navigation capabilities to make maintaining your lawn easier than ever.

Robotic lawn mowers can reduce the pain points of traditional models. And Sunseeker's latest model, the Sunseeker X8 Plus, offers the features to get the job done with as little intervention as possible. Its features include AONavi 3.0 to tackle any yard, no matter the obstacle, EdgeZero™ 2.0 to precisely trim the outer reaches of any landscape, and more.
One of the biggest issues robot lawn mowers face is imperfect terrain. If there are somewhat steep hills or rough patches in your yard, a robot lawn mower may get stuck or fail to mow part of the lawn. There’s little point to a robot lawn mower that you have to go behind and clean up after in this way.
That’s where ATC Pro comes in. The X8 Plus’ AWD and rear-wheel steering, combined with a four-wheel suspension system, let the robot mower tackle terrain with ease. It can tackle hills up to 39 degrees, and uneven landscapes will be no problem. You will have a lawn mower that can truly do it all — no babysitting required.
AONavi 3.0 combines the best tech for precision navigation
A great robotic lawn mower is about more than just hardware, however. If it doesn’t have the software to support it, the mower will still perform poorly.
Sunseeker Elite’s AONavi 3.0 delivers the best possible navigation. With the combination of nRTK, solid-state LiDAR motion sensing, and Vision AI, the X8 Plus offers top-tier navigation capabilities.
In particular, LiDAR and Vision support allow the X8 Plus to avoid obstacles, ensuring that fixtures like your garden or stray soccer balls stay safe and intact.
The X8 Plus also has an infrared camera that works day or night. The camera is even built with animal detection in mind, so you never have to worry about wildlife coming onto your lawn when the robo lawn mower is working — the X8 Plus will sense and avoid anything in its way.
Get the job done faster
Frustrated with how long your current robot lawn mower takes to finish the job? The solution seems simple — just pick up a wider lawn mower — but it can be a little more complicated than that. Wider blades can mean more room for length errors or an unbalanced cut if the blades aren’t installed correctly.
The X8 and X8 Plus’s cutting width is impressive at 15.4 inches, which means it can cover more ground with each pass. But it’s also accurate, allowing grass lengths between 0.8 inches and 5 inches without any issues.
There is more to the X8 Plus’ speed than the blades, though. The robot lawn mower’s cutting speed has increased to 1.3 mph, and with a 15Ah battery, it can run longer before needing a charge. Finally, with IPX6 water resistance, the X8 line can handle a bit of drizzle without stopping. Though if it gets too rainy, the lawn mower will sense it and stop until the sun comes out again, without you needing to direct it.
EdgeZero™ 2.0 leaves no grass blade uncut
Another problem a lot of robot lawn mowers have is with the edges of a lawn. Many have trouble making a level cut, and you may need to handle the edges yourself at times. It’s less than ideal when you likely bought a robotic lawn mower to spend as little time on upkeep as possible.
The Sunseeker Elite X8 Plus addresses this with EdgeZero™ 2.0. An improvement on the original EdgeZero™ 2.0 system, the X8 Plus can handle five levels of blade adjustment without extending the blade at all. The edges of your lawn will look immaculate, and you won’t need to lift a finger to do it.
Looking at the Sunseeker Elite X Gen 2
While the X8 Plus might be the latest flagship being shown at the Equip Expo Fest 2026, Sunseeker Elite has plenty of other new robotic lawn mowers to show off with the X Gen 2 collection.
The new X5 Gen 2, X7 Gen 2, and X7 Plus Gen 2 models will also have AONavi and Vision AI showcased with the X8 Plus, so they’ll provide the precision mapping and navigation you’re looking for.
Sunseeker Elite’s other models are built with the differing needs of homeowners in mind. For example, the X4 can only handle 0.3 acres as opposed to the X8 Plus’s 2 acres, but if you have a small lawn that is relatively flat and uniform, the X4 might be the better option. On the other end of the spectrum, the X9 and X9 Plus models can mow 3 and 6 acres of land before needing a recharge, respectively — but, of course, these heavy-duty devices will cost you quite a bit more than other models.
No matter your needs or the sort of backyard you have, you’ll find exactly what you need in Sunseeker Elite’s extensive robotic lawn mower portfolio.
