CD Projekt Red isn’t finished with Night City. After recently updating The Witcher 3’s visuals, the studio has released patch notes for Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5, called the Edgerunners 2 Update. This patch arrives alongside the Netflix debut of all ten episodes of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which premiered on October 20.
This patch finally brings one of the game’s most requested features: weapon dual-wielding. Players who unlock the Double Trouble perk in the Cool skill tree can use two Power pistols or revolvers at once, with four new combat perks to support this. Cyberware customization also gets a big upgrade with five new Glamdoc shops around the map, where players can add unique cosmetic skins to arm hardware like Mantis Blades and Gorilla Arms.
The update adds cross-platform mod support through mod.io. Players on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S can now browse and install community mods right from the game menu. Console players should remember that using a modded save will turn off achievements and trophies.
The patch adds two new story experiences. The side quest Clampdown serves as a prequel to the anime and rewards players with a five-piece gear set inspired by King. Another mission, Welcome to Paradise, offers a guided tour of Night City with narration by Richard Night. Players can also find 12 new Minor Arcana tarot cards, collect new clothes and hairstyles, and listen to a radio station featuring music from the show.
Update 2.5 adds support for Nvidia DLSS 4.5, which offers up to 6X Multi Frame Generation. AMD FSR options are now simpler, keeping FSR 2.1, FSR 4, and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation while removing older versions. Console players now have an FOV slider, better HDR, ray tracing improvements, and performance boosts for the PS5 Pro. Samsung Odyssey displays that are compatible also get glasses-free 3D support.
The patch also brings quality-of-life improvements like save grouping by playthrough, stash filters, and new Photo Mode tools. The update launches on October 22 for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Releases for Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store will follow soon after.
