১৯/১০/২০২৬
Kohima, October 19 (MExN): The Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church, D Block and Bayavu, organised a youth retreat on the theme “Awaken”, based on 1 Thessalonians 5:6, at Awo Ki, opposite Congress Bhavan, Kohima, on October 19.Dr Albert M Chawang, faculty member of North East Christian University, Dimapur, was the resource person at the retreat. He delivered a sermon highlighting the relevance of biblical teachings in helping young people connect with God, navigate daily pressures and remain steadfast in their faith journey.Referring to 1 Thessalonians 5:6, “Let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober,” Chawang encouraged the youths to live with spiritual vigilance, clear-mindedness and readiness in their daily lives. He said young people face intense pressures, including the fear of failure, the desire to fit in and social anxiety. He emphasised that God does not wait for people to grow older or become fully qualified before calling them to serve Him.Chawang encouraged the participants to practise prayer, honesty and integrity in their daily work and relationships rather than reacting in anger or falling into moral complacency. He also referred to the unexpected nature of the Lord’s coming, likening it to a thief in the night. He urged the youths to remain spiritually awake by being prepared, faithful and actively engaged in doing God’s will rather than wasting time on self-indulgence.The programme was organised by Youth Pastor Kungkam and Youth President Withuiliu.
