Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Northern Nigeria’s support for his re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.
Yusuf gave the assurance on Saturday in Abuja during the inauguration of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) campaign office, where he reaffirmed his commitment to Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
The governor said the A4A movement would provide a platform for mobilising support across the Northern states and strengthening political engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
He expressed confidence that Kano State, which he described as the leading state in Northern Nigeria in terms of voting strength, would play a significant role in the campaign.

“Kano, as the leading state with the highest number of votes in Northern Nigeria, will, in sha Allah, lead all Nigerian states to victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with massive turnout in favour of the APC,” he said.
Speaking at the event, Vice President Kashim Shettima said the North had demonstrated its support for Tinubu, while stressing that political support must be accompanied by accountability, good governance and tangible results that improve Nigerians’ lives.
Shettima acknowledged the economic challenges facing citizens and emphasised the need for the administration to remain responsive to their concerns.
He identified security, education, poverty reduction and the creation of economic opportunities as key priorities requiring sustained attention.
The A4A movement is designed to coordinate support for Tinubu and Shettima across the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Former Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar, is the national coordinator of the movement..
The inauguration forms part of political mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections, as political actors and support groups begin organising campaigns across the country.
