No. 1 ranked Miami defeated Pittsburgh 52-23 on Saturday afternoon at Hard Rock Stadium and Javian Mallory was once again a big part of the offensive explosion.
While receiver Malachi Toney stole headlines with a career performance, Mallory, a former West Boca Raton High School standout running back, rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries for the 7-0 Canes.
One of those scores was an 11-yard powerful run up the middle in which Mallory showcased a little Le'Veon-Bell-esque stutter-step before he hit the hole on his way to the end zone.

Mallory was an annual Palm Beach Post first-team All-County football selection and committed early to Miami.
Thus far in his freshman season, he has 444 yards and seven scores. The performances against Pitt followed another two-touchdown performance on 108 yards rushing against FSU, a game that went to double overtime before UM won.
He is the team's leading rusher through seven games.
Miami played in the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship game, losing to Indiana. Mallory was present in uniform, although he did not play. This year, he would be part of the team seeking to go one step farther.
