Shillong, Oct 13: The Meghalaya High Court on Monday deferred the writ petition filed by the Harijan Panchayat Committee against the government constituted High Level Committee in connection with the proposed relocation of 342 families from Them Iew Mawlong by four weeks.
An order passed by Justice B Bhattacharjee said, “The learned counsels appearing for the parties submit that the connected matter pending before the Division Bench is yet to be disposed of.”
Taking note of the submission, the court directed listing of the matter after four weeks.
On October 8, Deputy Chief Minister in charge Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar had stated that the state government has nearly finalised the relocation of Harijan Colony from Them Iew Mawlong adding that the detailed blueprint will be made public only after negotiations are over.
