Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has declared that he will contest in the 2027 general elections.
Uzodimma made the declaration on Wednesday at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC) in Abuja.
DAILY POST reports that Uzodimma is seeking election to represent Imo West Senatorial District in the 2027 polls.
He charged every candidate, stakeholder and member of the APC to work together to ensure victory for President Bola Tinubu and other party candidates across the country.
“I will be on the ballot as a senatorial candidate. The return in January will be shaped to a very great extent by what we have seen of their governors.
“What the council chairmen have done in their local governments and their legislators over these past three years. This election is as much a referendum on every APC officer or candidate, and I’m included.
“So, all of us, the challenge of re-electing Mr President is the challenge of re-electing every member of the APC. It follows that our party has no excuse not to win. Victory is guaranteed when we are united. Victory is guaranteed when we are committed and work as a focused team.
“So we must reject any misgivings we have against each other. We must reconcile our differences. We must rally as one family behind the party and all the candidates. We must speak to Nigerians as one family with one voice and one message,” he said.
