All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant Dr. Ibrahim Bangura (DIB) has joined the Well Woman Clinic’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, calling for greater awareness, early detection and support for people affected by the disease.
Bangura participated in the event on Saturday, October 24, 2026, as part of efforts to promote public awareness of breast cancer and highlight the importance of timely diagnosis and access to appropriate care.
In a statement following the walk, Bangura described breast cancer as both a health and human issue that requires compassion, collective responsibility and sustained action.
He emphasised that awareness, regular screening and early diagnosis are essential to saving lives and giving hope to families affected by the disease.
The APC flagbearer aspirant also commended the Well Woman Clinic for its continued commitment to educating and empowering communities, as well as supporting people affected by breast cancer.
Bangura called on the public to stand in solidarity with survivors, support those currently battling the disease and remember those who have died from it.

He stressed that people affected by breast cancer should not have to face the challenges associated with the disease alone, urging continued collective efforts to promote awareness and improve support for those in need.
The annual walk forms part of the broader effort to encourage conversations about breast cancer, promote early detection and strengthen solidarity with individuals and families affected by the disease.
