The Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, has disclosed that the NDC coalition, including the presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the party leader, Sen. Seriake Dickson, and himself, has agreed to consider all necessary options, including bringing back fuel subsidy, to lower high petrol prices and ease severe economic hardship for Nigerians.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, Kwankwaso noted that “Our collective position now is that the price of energy in this country is too high and our position is we are going to do whatever is necessary to ensure that the price of fuel in this country is taken back, including doing whatever we can, including the subsidy and so on and so forth.”
He clarified that they had harmonised their views regarding energy costs and economic management ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.

Speaking on the 2027 general elections, Kwankwaso stated that “if you are coming for the first time, you can tell people what you intend to do, but after four years it’s not what you see, it’s what you have done during the opportunity that you had that will work for you or against you,” he noted.
