UAE rainy season is here: Daily rain forecast for five days as low-pressure system changes the weather pattern

Dubai: Rain is coming to the UAE today, extending from Fujairah to Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, and the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts that it is likely to return, every day, over the next five days.

The NCM forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather, with a chance of some convective cloud formation in eastern regions like Fujairah, which may extend to internal and western areas by this afternoon. These clouds are expected to bring rainfall in places like Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, according to the NCM.

Convective clouds, which increase the possibility of rain, are becoming a regular feature in the UAE over the next few days, according to the NCM’s weather report, because of changing weather patterns, influenced by an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by a trough in the upper atmosphere.

Warm and humid

Meanwhile, temperatures remain in the mid-30s across the UAE today.

Dubai and Sharjah will peak at 39°C, while Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman will reach 38°C today. Umm Al Quwain will see highs of 37°C, while Fujairah will remain the coolest emirate at 33°C.

The NCM expects humidity to build up by night and on Thursday morning over some coastal and internal areas, with a probability of fog in urban regions like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Be cautious when driving, as visibility may drop significantly in such situations.

Calm seas

Light to moderate winds, fresh to strong at times, will reach up to 50km/h in internal regions, and cause blowing dust.

Despite strong gusts, the seas along the eastern and western coastlines are calm today, according to the NCM, as both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will see slight conditions, with gentle waves on-shore rising to two feet, and waves off-shore rising to three feet.
