The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has issued a six-month schedule for planned power cuts to carry out maintenance and development work on its electricity network.
According to an official notification, the schedule runs from 16 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. PESCO has also advised officials to avoid maintenance shutdowns on Fridays and Sundays unless necessary.
PESCO has instructed the relevant departments to carry out maintenance tasks together wherever possible. The aim is to shorten power cuts and limit inconvenience to consumers.
The company has also ordered officials to follow the approved schedule strictly. It will not allow routine changes or extra shutdowns.
However, if an unavoidable emergency requires an additional power cut, the department concerned must submit a formal written request.
The notification requires officials to notify key consumers and industrial users before scheduled outages. They must also inform hospitals, educational institutions and local community leaders.
These advance notices aim to help consumers prepare and reduce disruption to essential services.
In addition, PESCO has directed teams to put all required safety measures in place during maintenance and development work. These precautions must protect both workers and the public.
Company officials said the work aims to improve the electricity distribution network and provide consumers with a more reliable supply in the coming season.
