Twenty-four players have opened the week on Missouri football’s official SEC availability and injury report, including a “probable” designation for quarterback Austin Simmons.
Among the 24 players, eight players start the week on the Wednesday report as “probable,” which means they are more likely to play than not.
Those players are Simmons, starting linebacker Nicholas Rodriguez, starting safety Kensley Louidor-Faustin, key edge rushers Daeden Hopkins and Langden Kitchen, rotational tight end Jordon Harris, wide receiver/punt returner Damarion Fowlkes and backup safety Jayden McGregory.
Eleven players started the week as “questionable,” which is supposed to be close to a 50/50 chance that those players will be able to play.
Those players: Starting left tackle Cayden Green, starting wide receiver Cayden Lee, starting linebacker Robert Woodyard Jr., starting edge rusher Darris Smith, starting tight end Brett Norfleet, starting safety Santana Banner, starting defensive tackle Sterling Webb, wide receiver Shaun Terry II, linebacker Jeremiah Beasley, backup corner Cam Keys and backup offensive lineman Khalief Canty Jr.
Mizzou, as expected, ruled out running backs Ahmad Hardy and Malae Fonoti, right tackle Josh Atkins, reserve safety JaDon Blair and backup tight end Gavin Hoffman for this weekend's game.

Before a 27-6 win over Texas A&M this past Saturday, Mizzou listed 16 players on its midweek availability reports.
On gameday, the Tigers removed all 11 players who weren’t previously ruled out, making them eligible to play.
No. 13-ranked Missouri’s game against No. 10/9 Ole Miss is scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Oxford, Mississippi, and will air on SEC Network.
Missouri and the Rebels will release follow-up availability reports on both Thursday and Friday night, as well as one final report Saturday approximately 90 minutes before the game.

What is the availability report?
The SEC-mandated reports are required of member organizations every night beginning Wednesday in the leadup to an in-conference matchup, with the final report publishing 90 minutes before kickoff.
The possible designations, from most likely to play to least likely, are as follows: available; probable; questionable; doubtful; out.
The reports are not technically injury reports, which some teams — Mizzou often included — provided in years prior. Instead, they are lists that include any players ruled unavailable or possibly unavailable for upcoming games. That could be for any number of reasons, including but not limited to injuries.
The reports are only mandated before in-conference matchups.
Inaccurate or late reports in football are subject to fines ranging from $25,000-$100,000 and can include “accountability measures” for head coaches.
