Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has launched 980 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs) under the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas, as well as regions with high stunting rates.
The new SPPGs, also known as MBG kitchens, were launched simultaneously across 16 provinces in Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Bali, with the main launch event held in Aceh Besar, Aceh, on Wednesday. The rollout follows last week's launch of 480 SPPGs across eastern Indonesia.
"Last week, we activated 480 kitchens in 3T areas and regions with high stunting rates. This week, we are continuing the effort in Bali, Kalimantan, and Sumatra," BGN Head Sudaryono said in a statement.
Of the 980 newly activated kitchens, 691 are located in Sumatra, while the remaining 289 are spread across Kalimantan and Bali.
Sudaryono emphasized that the activation process strictly follows the official protocols and procedures established by the agency.
He stressed that BGN has not authorized any third parties to act as its representatives or intermediaries in the activation process.
Sudaryono urged the public to remain vigilant against unauthorized individuals claiming to represent BGN or its leadership and offering services in exchange for payment.
He reiterated that the entire rollout is managed directly through official channels, without intermediaries.
Sudaryono also urged members of the public who discover or have evidence of such fraudulent practices to report them immediately to the authorities so that suspected violations can be handled through the proper legal channels.
The MBG program, which targets millions of beneficiaries nationwide, was launched in early 2025 as a key initiative of the Prabowo Subianto administration to improve the nutritional status of toddlers, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and school-age children.
To expand the program's reach and address regional disparities, the government is prioritizing implementation in 3T areas and regions with high to severe stunting rates.
