An Airlink flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town aborted take-off on Sunday afternoon after a tyre burst during its take-off roll.
Airlink confirmed that the pilots of flight 4Z 951 stopped the aircraft on the runway in line with standard procedures.
The Embraer E190 had 75 passengers and crew on board, according to the airline.
Airlink said buses and mobile stairs had been sent to the aircraft to transfer passengers to a replacement aircraft.
The replacement flight would depart once the aircraft had been prepared and loaded, the airline said.
