Katie Price has revealed that her terminally ill mum has just ‘days’ left to live as she continued giving evidence at the trial of her ex-husband Kieran Hayler.
The former glamour model, 48, spoke about her mother Amy, 74, who has the incurable lung condition idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), as she explained she needed to visit her in hospital.
Katie is due to return to Lewes Crown Court today to continue giving evidence, but said she had been unable to see her mum because she had a cold.
‘My mum’s dying at the moment and I haven’t been able to see her because I’ve got a cold … she’s got days,’ she told the court, according to The Sun.
‘I did promise my mum I’d see her tomorrow.’
Last month, Katie revealed on her podcast with sister Sophie that Amy was in hospital and ‘very poorly’.
Amy was diagnosed with IPF in 2017. The condition causes irreversible scarring of the lungs, making it increasingly difficult to breathe.
She underwent a life-saving lung transplant in 2023 after falling into a coma and coming close to death.
In July, Katie said she feared her mum might die while she was filming her recent autobiographical documentary for Sky.
Hayler, 39, denies three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault relating to allegations involving a schoolgirl in West Sussex. The complainant is not a member of his or Katie’s extended family.
During her evidence, Katie also said she had not read media reports about the trial because she had been ‘handcuffed to Suella Braverman all week’ while filming a Channel 4 show.
She told the court she had no ‘venom’ towards her ex-husband and described their split as ‘amicable’.
Jurors were previously told that Katie had messaged the girl in May 2017, offering to make her a ‘little star’ while asking whether she had kissed Hayler.
The exchange allegedly took place eight months after the last alleged attack.
