KUALA LUMPUR: Sabahan singer-actress Bella Astillah has dedicated a special song to her husband, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, to mark their recent wedding.
Bella, 32, performed her latest single, Bersama Aku Setia Selamanya, for the very first time at the wedding reception, which was held yesterday evening at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
Composed by singer-songwriter Hael Husaini, the track tells the story of the couple's individual journeys, how they first met, and their path to marriage.
"Thank you so much, Hael. I was initially nervous to perform this beautiful song for the very first time. We got it off the ground rather fast, but it's beautiful," said Bella in a news report yesterday.
"We visited the studio thrice before the song was finally completed, and for fans of both of us, it will be officially released soon."
Syed Saddiq, 34, expressed his heartfelt thanks to Bella and admitted the tribute took him completely by surprise.
"It's really melted my heart, hearing such a lovely song for the first time," said Syed Saddiq.
Meanwhile, Bella shared that she is still adjusting to married life after moving into Syed Saddiq's home alongside her two children, Ayden Adrean Aliff, 9, and Ara Adreanna Aliff, 6.
"We eat simple stuff like cereals and pancakes with him during the weekends," she said.
Syed Saddiq praised his new wife, describing her as strong and resilient, adding that she had never been in "need of a man to hold on to", as her children were her everything.
The couple tied the knot at Menara Merdeka 118 on Oct 10.
Their next reception will be held in his hometown of Muar on Oct 25, followed by another celebration in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on Oct 31.
