FIFA has announced the appointment of a normalisation committee to run the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
The normalisation committee will take charge of the football house pending fresh elections into the federation’s Executive Committee.
FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström, in a letter addressed to the acting Secretary General of the NFF, Emmanuel Ikpeme, stated that the committee would comprise a suitable number of members to be jointly appointed by FIFA and the Confederation of African Football, CAF, as soon as possible.
The world’s football governing body also stated that the committee’s mandate would end on May 31, 2027.
FIFA also clarified that members of the normalisation committee would not be eligible to contest any of the positions to be filled during the forthcoming NFF elections.
Meanwhile, Ikpeme will continue to run the affairs of the NFF until the normalisation committee is formally appointed.
