LAHORE, Oct 12 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s CM E-Bikes Scheme has set new popularity records among young people, attracting over 1.3 million registrations for the first time for any government scheme.
The application process for the CM E-Bikes Scheme has been completed, with more than 607,000 applications received.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to complete the scheme’s process at the earliest.
Under the scheme, 100,000 lucky applicants will receive e-bikes through a balloting process on easy monthly instalments of Rs 3,000. The Punjab government will bear the entire interest cost for the provision of 100,000 e-bikes.
On the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, successful female applicants under the scheme will also be provided free driving training.
The chief minister said all possible resources would be provided to enable young people, particularly female students, to progress and achieve their goals. She said e-bikes would not only make commuting easier for female students but also help them save on monthly expenses. “Every son and daughter of Punjab is very special to me,” she said.
