Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, says Washington has accepted some of Tehran’s seven conditions for an agreement, but its response remains insufficient.
“The US has agreed to some of Iran’s seven conditions, but we consider its response inadequate,” Rezaei said in a post on X.
“Iranian diplomacy has changed and there will be no return to the status quo ante,” he added, signalling that Tehran would not accept a return to the arrangements in place before the war.
Iran has proposed reopening the Strait of Hormuz and resuming negotiations with Washington if its conditions are met, including an end to the US naval blockade and restrictions on Iranian oil sales.
Rezaei has previously said Tehran would not reopen the waterway to the US or enter negotiations until its demands were satisfied, reports AL Jazeera.
