Riyadh – The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi group toward the city of Dhahran, noting that debris from the interception fell in a residential area of the city.
The spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki al-Maliki, said in a statement on his account on the “X” platform that a ballistic missile was intercepted and destroyed in Haradh in the Eastern Province.
In the Riyadh region, the ministry announced the interception and destruction of a cruise missile.
It also announced the interception and destruction of two drones in the Riyadh and Southern regions, in addition to the interception and destruction of three cruise missiles in the two regions.
Earlier on Tuesday, Saudi Arabia announced the execution of a qualitative military operation to neutralize vital resources that it said the Houthi militia was using to fuel its war effort and threaten Saudi Arabia and international waterways.
Al-Maliki stated that the Houthis are using civilian infrastructure and vital resources to support their military operations, including the central Al-Sabaha power station in Sana'a, underground fuel storage facilities, and fuel tanks and docks used for transporting and unloading fuel in Hodeidah, Sana'a, and Dhamar.
He added that using these resources to directly support the Houthis' military operations deprives the Yemeni people of access to them to meet their needs.
Al-Maliki explained that these sites are used to supply the missile and drone arsenal that threatens Saudi Arabia and the safety of airports, ports, and commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
