His post came shortly after Winnie Odinga, daughter of the late opposition icon Raila Odinga, announced her bid to contest for the Nairobi Senate seat at her father's memorial.
The announcement caught many political observers off guard, given both the setting and the timing.
"To the wire!! I am ready!!" the legislator wrote in a Facebook post.

Jalang'o's senatorial ambitions meet a royal challenge
Jalang'o had previously made no secret of his interest in succeeding current Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who is reportedly eyeing a presidential run in 2027.
With Winnie now throwing her hat into the ring, the race for one of Nairobi's most high-profile political seats just got considerably more complicated.
Winnie's entry carries enormous symbolic weight. Her late father, Raila, who passed away in October 2025, remains a towering figure in Kenyan politics, and her candidacy is seen by many as a continuation of the Odinga political dynasty in the capital.
The contrast between Jalang'o's entertainment background and Winnie's political pedigree was not lost on Kenyans online, who wasted no time weighing in.

From radio booth to senate race
Jalang'o rose to national fame as a radio presenter and comedian before successfully transitioning into politics, winning the Langata parliamentary seat.
His journey from the entertainment industry into elected office earned him considerable admiration, but his latest political ambition may prove his toughest test yet.
Whether his cryptic post signals genuine resolve or a moment of competitive bravado remains to be seen.
One thing is certain, though: the race for the Nairobi Senate seat in 2027 is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about contests in Kenyan politics.
