Wrestling legend Ric Flair was rushed yesterday to a hospital in Tampa (Florida) after suffering a bad fall when he left a restaurant. According to the outlet TMZ, the charismatic 77-year-old wrestler collapsed and, as a result, suffered cuts to his head and the area around his eye.
The incident occurred just hours after Flair revealed that he is dealing with a blood clot in one leg that prevented him from traveling to a fan event in Seattle. According to TMZ, the wrestler was at the Wagamama restaurant in Tampa, stood up from the bar leaving his phone and drink there, and crossed the street. Once outside, he suddenly collapsed and hit his head.
That same Friday, Flair explained on his social media accounts: “Unfortunately, I have a blood clot in my leg and my doctors have limited my travel to a maximum of 3 or 4 hours. Seattle is outside that range and, much as it pains me, I must prioritize my health and recovery […] I am scheduled for a procedure to treat the affected vein; my doctors hope that, after the procedure, I will be able to take longer trips again”.
Hours after his collapse, ‘The Nature Boy’ shared a photo from the hospital with a message for his followers: “Thank you all for the messages and prayers! I will respond to each of you individually as I get stronger. Thank you to all the staff and doctors at Tampa General Hospital who put up with me until 4:30 in the morning. I appreciate you all, and thank you for everything you did for me. Right now I am focused on healing and recovery. I’ll be fine!”. Flair did not specify whether his collapse was a consequence of the clot, although at first glance it appears to be the cause.
