Tesla stock has a neutral daily bias, with the 20- and 50-session EMAs beneath the market but the 200-session EMA overhead. Price sits above its 20- and 50-session EMAs, yet below the 200-session EMA. Meanwhile, hourly resistance limits the bullish case, while 15-minute signals offer limited short-term support.

Tesla stock: daily 20-session EMA meets overhead 200-session EMA
Daily trend structure
The daily 20-session EMA stands at $370.95, above the 50-session EMA at $367.16. Both sit beneath price, providing reference levels for the bullish case. However, the 200-session EMA at $377.22 remains overhead. That arrangement is mixed rather than a clearly bullish trend.
Daily momentum reading
Daily RSI14 stands at 52.05, just above the neutral 50 threshold. The MACD line is 2.71, below its signal at 2.78, with a negative histogram of -0.07. Therefore, the positive RSI reading lacks confirmation from the MACD relationship. Neither indicator establishes a decisive directional advantage.
Daily volatility and pivot levels
Price is above the daily Bollinger mid-band at $369.92. It sits between the lower band at $349.5 and the upper band at $390.33. The daily ATR14 reads $12.57, providing a volatility reference rather than a directional signal.
At the same time, price remains below the daily pivot at $379.05 and above first support, S1, at $369.24. Daily first resistance, R1, is $384.39. These pivot levels derive from the previous completed daily candle and apply to the current session.
Tesla stock: hourly resistance limits the bullish case
Hourly trend and momentum
On the hourly chart, price sits below the 50-hour EMA at $374.09 and the 20-hour EMA at $375.39. It remains above the 200-hour EMA at $369.82. This leaves shorter-term resistance overhead without a complete bearish alignment.
Hourly RSI14 is 46.3, below 50. The MACD line at -0.73 sits below its signal at 0.62. The histogram is -1.35, reinforcing the hourly chart’s bearish qualification of the neutral daily view.
Nevertheless, price is above the hourly pivot at $372.08 and hourly first resistance, R1, at $372.84. Price remains below the hourly Bollinger mid-band at $379.26, so its position above the pivot does not resolve the broader hourly resistance.
Short-term execution context
Price sits above the 15-minute 20-period EMA at $372.68 and Bollinger mid-band at $372.46. However, the 50- and 200-period EMAs both stand overhead at $375.06.
The 15-minute RSI14 is 49.52, below 50. Its MACD line at -0.99 is above its signal at -1.42, producing a positive histogram of 0.43. That is a constructive short-term relationship, but it does not override the hourly resistance or the mixed daily signals.
News context and conditional scenarios
Meanwhile, a report published during Friday’s session said Tesla had scrapped Cybertruck plans in Australia and New Zealand. Separately, The Motley Fool reported before Friday’s open that automotive revenue fell 3% and energy generation and storage fell 16%. These reports add company-specific context to the session.
Bullish scenario
The bullish scenario requires Tesla stock to hold the daily 20-session EMA at $370.95. Clearing the hourly averages at $374.09 and $375.39 would strengthen that case.
A move above the daily 200-session EMA at $377.22 and daily pivot at $379.05 would provide broader confirmation. Beyond those levels, daily R1 at $384.39 and the upper Bollinger band at $390.33 are further resistance references.
Bearish scenario
In contrast, a break below $370.95 would weaken the bullish case. The next daily references are the Bollinger mid-band at $369.92, S1 at $369.24 and the 50-session EMA at $367.16.
A break beneath the session low at $365.3 would invalidate the case built on holding those supports.
Overall, Tesla remains between the daily 20-session EMA at $370.95 and the daily 200-session EMA at $377.22, with hourly averages also overhead. Daily ATR14 of $12.57 keeps volatility relevant to both scenarios. The unresolved question is whether price can clear that resistance structure or lose the daily support beneath it.
