West Coast have secured their forward future with Amy Franklin recommitting to the Eagles amid a breakout season.
The 23-year-old signed a three-year extension on Thursday, which will tie her to the club until 2029 and give the Eagles a strong forward pillar to build around.
Franklin has been the main weapon for the Eagles this season, kicking a career-best 11 goals and was sorely missed in their defeat to Geelong as they struggled to find routes to goal without her presence.
“I’m feeling very excited to be signing on again; I love this club so much and am so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had here,” Franklin said.
“It’s crazy to think I’ve already been here for four years; I have loved every bit of it, and I honestly just love being around this group; there’s never a dull moment, and I just love being able to work with my best mates.
“We’ve got such a tight-knit group, and it’s been amazing to see the steps we’re taking in the competition. We’re hungry for more and I’m keen to see where this group can take us in the next couple of years.”
The former Docker is averaging career highs for disposals and marks this season, and with her future secured, the Eagles can now focus on adding more attacking weapons to support her aerial dominance.
“Amy has shown significant growth this season, not only in her performances on field but also in the way she leads and influences the group,” AFLW List and Recruiting Manager Jordan Loxley said.
“She is a natural leader who sets standards within our group and is an important player in the direction we’re heading.
“We’re delighted to have her commit for another three years and excited to see her continue to grow her game and have an even greater impact on our team.”
