The gubernatorial candidate of Accord, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, has reacted to his identification as the party’s candidate in the final list released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), calling for unity among the members of the party in the state.
Hamzat expressed gratitude to his supporters, party members and executives for their prayers, solidarity and continued belief in his political journey, calling on other aspirants to put the past behind them and work for the collective interest of the party.
Hamzat described the journey as one that transcends personal ambition, saying it represents the hopes and collective future of the people.
He said the latest development had addressed several insinuations and questions surrounding attempts to undermine the collective interest of the party, but cautioned supporters against complacency.

“This is not the finish line; it is the beginning of a more demanding journey,” he said.
Hamzat urged Accord members and supporters to strengthen their unity, deepen engagement with the electorate and remain committed to their political objectives.
He also called on party faithful to be prepared to defend their mandate through lawful, peaceful and democratic means, warning that further challenges could arise as the election approaches.
According to him, the party must remain focused, organised and united rather than allow disagreements or intimidation to derail its efforts.
