Bianna Golodryga, who has been an anchor and senior global affairs analyst for CNN, said that she is departing the network after nine years.
She posted on X, “After nine wonderful years at CNN, I’ve decided to leave for an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. I’m grateful for the experiences, friendships and support from fabulous colleagues during my CNN years. Exciting news to share very soon!”
A CNN spokesperson confirmed the news.
Golodryga has co-anchored One World with Zain Asher on CNN International, and previously served as global affairs analyst for the network. Her final day on the show will be on Friday.
Her departure follows the announcement earlier this week that Christiane Amanpour would be winding down her daily CNN International series and departing the network next year.
The exits follow Skydance’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of CNN, meaning that the global news network would be under the same ownership as CBS News. As the deal neared its closing, it was announced that Mark Thompson would stay on as chairman and editor in chief. While Skydance CEO David Ellison has pledged editorial independence for the network, there is uncertainty and anxiety longer term, especially as one company will own two legacy networks.
Golodryga previously was co-host of CBS This Morning, and had a dual role at CBS News and CNN. She joined CNN full time in 2019.
