Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force on Monday night arrested former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha at REIZ Continental Hotel in central Abuja.
Ripples Nigeria gathered that the arrest was in connection to allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
The arrest comes after the former governor reportedly evaded repeated police invitations in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation, prompting the police to obtain a bench warrant for his arrest.
Okorocha was initially invited to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on September 2, 2026, but the appointment was rescheduled to September 8 at the request of his lawyers, a date he also failed to honour.
