NFL legend Tom Brady is under fire after his harsh words on commentary for Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold.
The reigning Super Bowl Champions have had a mixed start to the season, as their 32-29 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on October 11 has worsened the Seahawks’ record to 3-2 for the season.
A second-quarter play involving 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw and Seahawks QB Darnold gave Brady the perfect opportunity to criticise the reigning Super Bowl winner once again.

While on commentary for FOX, Brady reacted to the second-quarter personal foul flag called on Greenlaw for a tackle on Darnold, with Brady slamming Darnold for ‘acting’ to cause a flag.
“I don’t think it’s an illegal hit at all… It’s a little nudge out of bounds, Darnold with the acting. Football has changed so much.”
Fans were stunned to see Brady issue such a judgment when the flag call looked plausible to most, calling out the six-time Super Bowl champion for being hypocritical given his style as a player. He also caught flak for his potential dislike for Darnold.
“You sound stupid calling out Darnold. His body is moving towards sidelines, and the defender comes full speed and even a slight shove is going to send the runner who weighs much less on top of that flying,” said one fan.
“Didn’t Brady grow up a 49er fan? Probably still is,” pointing out a potential personal bias.
“Tom Brady, as great as he was, was one of the biggest p—— to ever play the sport. Anyone half paying attention to the game today could tell Bay Area Brady was all in on SF, and he has a deep dislike of Darnold,” slamming Brady for his dislike of Darnold.
“Brady the player would hate Brady the announcer,” said a fan, pointing out the hypocrisy in Brady’s commentary.
“Truly insane hearing Brady say it’s a different game now. The NFL so clearly protected Brady just like they do Mahomes now,” said another fan.
Brady has been critical of Darnold in the past, downplaying his plays on commentary while also questioning his ability as a surgical QB or a big-game player.
Brady was also reportedly against the Las Vegas Raiders signing Darnold in the 2025 offseason, prompting the Seahawks to sign him as the final piece for a Super Bowl-winning team, while Geno Smith, Brady’s preferred choice, led them to the worst record in the NFL.
Darnold struggled with Brady on the comms, going 18/29 on passes for 195 yards, 1 touchdown, two interceptions, but got sacked five times and had a passer rating lower than 65.
