First, the 26-year-old gave his team a 2-1 lead. Then the Swedish star defenseman had a good chance to score again. But then something happened, and Dahlin injured his back.
He was forced to go to the bench and change before heading to the locker room.
Shortly afterwards, Buffalo announced on X that the Swede would not return to the game.
"Rasmus Dahlin will not play in today's game against Florida due to an upper-body injury," the club wrote.
Buffalo won the game 5-3.
Dahlin has become one of the NHL's biggest stars. Last season, he was nominated for the Norris Trophy, awarded to the NHL's best defenseman, and was also named to the NHL Second All-Star Team.
