The Arizona Cardinals do not expect to have rookie running back Jeremiyah Love back in Week 7. According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Love is expected to miss the Cardinals' game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Love did not practice all last week and did not play against the Los Angeles Rams. He was a non-participant in practice on Wednesday. It sounds like he will sit the rest of this week as well.
On Wednesday, coach Mike LaFleur indicated the Cardinals are focused on getting him right. "He’s feeling better, but it kind of goes without saying — (We're) not going to put him out there until he feels 100%.”
Love has been dealing with a lingering ankle injury for weeks. It is not the same ankle he sprained in the preseason. That ankle has healed, and he is not impacted by that.
He has played in five games this season. He has rushed for 245 yards and a touchdown, averaging 3.7 yards per attempt.
With no Love expected on Sunday, Tyler Allgeier will start and Bam Knight will play in Love's place. Knight rushed for 80 yards against the Rams in Week 6. Evan Hull will likely get elevated from the practice squad.
